When a computer on a Wi-Fi network tries to connect to your PC, displays a pop-up warning which lets you deny or allow the connection. However, you can change the connection permissions established through these messages whenever you want. You can do this through the white lists and blacklists of computers with access to the network.
The white lists and blacklists let you specify the computers for which you want to allow connections across the Wi-Fi network. To do this, follow the steps below:
Click Status in the main menu.
In the Protection section, click Settings.
Select the Firewall option.
In section White list and blacklist of computers with access to the network, click Settings.
The window contains two sections: At the top there is a list of computers that can connect to your PC via the Wi-Fi network, while below you will see the computers that cannot establish connections. These lists include the computers that have been added through a pop-up message and those that have been added manually.
The options available are the following:
Add: This button is available both for the white list and for the blacklist. These buttons let you add computers to the lists. If you add a computer to the list of allowed computers, your computer will be able to communicate with it across the Wi-Fi network. However if you add it to the list of denied computers, you will not be able to communicate with it. When you click this button, another window will appear in which you must indicate one of the following options: the MAC address of the computer's network card, its IP address, or its name. If you specify the computer's name, click Resolve name, as the IP address and MAC address are obtained through the name. After entering this data, click on OK.
Deny computer: This lets you add a computer which can currently communicate with your PC via the Wi-Fi network to the blacklist of computers. If you want to prevent a PC which is currently in the white list from connecting to your computer via the Wi-Fi network, select it from the list and click Deny computer.
Allow computer: This lets you add a computer which cannot currently communicate with your PC via the Wi-Fi network to the white list of computers. If you want to allow a PC which is currently in the blacklist to connect to your computer via the Wi-Fi network, select it from the list and click Allow computer.
Remove / Remove all: If you remove computers from either of the two lists, and they try to connect to your PC through the Wi-Fi network, will once again ask you if you want to allow the connection.
Once you have made the changes you want, click OK.
